The Little Helper

We are counting down the days to the move and EJ has been a great helper. For those that don't know, we are doing this move ourselves vs. using a moving company provided by the military. Over the last few days Paco and I have been packing away all our household goods and so far we are making some great progess. We still have a ways to go, but it will all get done! This is how EJ was "helping" earlier today.

Wonderful Friends

Our wonderful friends the Halls, Zaisers and Zollars Families threw a going away party for us last night. It was so nice to spend a last night with these wonderful families we have come to know and love over the last few years. We really have watched each others kids grow up and are so sad not to be able to experience round two together. Of course, we will all stay in touch and hopefully can meet up again sometime in the future. Here are a few pictures of our last fun night together.

Home Sweet Home

Hello Friends,

I am writing with some very exciting news. The Sanchez Family is moving back home! This week Paco was offered a job at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield and he gladly accepted. It is going to be a whirlwind few weeks as we pack up, move, and get settled into our new temporary housing. Paco's parents have been very generous and offered to let us stay with them until our house in Ohio sells and we can buy something in Springfield. Let's hope they don't instantly regret that kind offer when we show up with all the goodies needed for two young children! Paco and I are still trying to figure out a timeline for the move, but we are pretty sure we will be back in town by June 1st when he starts work. Blogging might be hit and miss over the next few weeks, but I will try to keep everyone informed of our progress.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommies of the world. Here are a few pictures of what makes this day so special to me. We want to also send a special Mother's Day greeting to all the special Grandmas--especially ours!

I am sort of biased, but they sure are cute!

4 weeks old

It really is hard to believe, but Molly is 4 weeks old today. Technically not one month until Sunday--the 10th, but close enough. Throughout her first year of life, I am going to try and take a picture of her each month with this big stuffed Winnie the Pooh. It should really illustrate her growth from month to month. So here is the first installment in the series.

A "Christmas Story" Moment

Friday morning Paco was all set to head out to work when he discovered a very flat front tire. EJ was all excited to help his Daddy out so he put on some shoes with his jammies and headed out to the garage. Paco gave him the exciting and very important job of holding the tire cap and lug nut covers. When we saw EJ standing there holding those we both instantly thought of the scene from "A Christmas Story" in which Ralphie is helping his Dad change a flat tire in the snow. Unfortunately for Ralphie, he drops the lug nuts in the snow and utters a word that should not have come out of his mouth. Fortunately for us, neiter Paco nor EJ uttered any bad words throughout the removal of the flat tire. Paco did discover that the reason for the flat was the spring in the suspension of his car had broke and popped a hole in his tire. One tow to the repair shop and several hundred dollars later all is well with that lovely car.
