A Beautiful Sight

There is nothing more reassuring in life than looking at an ultrasound and seeing the teeny-tiniest heart beat. That is the wonderful thing we were able to see today at my first doctors appointment. The doctor said that all seemed well and the heart was beating away strongly. We did get a picture, but Paco isn't sure that it will scan well. I might try and talk him into it later though :) I will go back in for another ultrasound in about five weeks and we should get lots of pictures then and be able to see much more of the little one. The baby was measuring bigger than I thought so they moved my due date to April 9th. Who knows, if I go a few days late we might get a wonderful Easter present.

I apologize for the picture quality. You can't scan this particular ultrasound paper so I had to take a picture of a picture, which never turns out well. You can see the little one in the top left corner in the top picture.

I tried to zoom in a bit, but it made the picture pretty fuzzy. Nonetheless, you get the idea!

Coming in April 2009!!!

We just wanted to share the news with everyone that there will be a new addition to our family. That's right, EJ is going to be a big brother. The baby is due 13 April 2009. Erin, Paco, and, of course, EJ are all very excited. Check back here for more news and updates in the future.

Edited to add:I have my first doctor's appt. next Thursday and I am crossing my fingers the doc will do an ultrasound to see the little bean. Hopefully I will have some ultrasound pics to post next week!

Potty Training

This weekend we took the potty training plunge and put EJ into big boy underwear. He has done so well with it and only had one minor accident since Saturday! We are so proud of him and what a big boy he has become.

I came into the living room and found him
wearing his pajama shirt, undies, and Paco's combat boots!

Illinois State Fair 2008

Paco, EJ and I made the trip back to Springfield last week to take advantage of the fair. We had a great time drinking tons of lemon-orange shakeups (thanks Dad!) and eating ribeye sandwiches, fries, and Tom Thumb Donuts. EJ had a ton of fun riding all the rides and seeing the animals.

Wegerzyn Children's Garden

A few weeks ago I took EJ to a local children's garden to play with his playgroup friends. They have a fabulous mini-waterfall and kid-safe riverbed for the kids to play in. EJ also had a lot of fun filling up the watering cans and watering the flowers.
