Eviction Notice Served

The baby has officially been served it's eviction notice. Today at my doctors appointment we scheduled an induction to begin the evening of Thursday, April 9th. Hopefully the little one will make it's grand appearance at some point on Friday, April 10th. Paco and I are really looking forward to meeting our newest addition and introducing him or her to EJ. There is always the chance I will go into labor naturally before then, and that would be great, but this is our back up plan. Check back in often to see when this little one will arrive.

14 days or less

I can hardly believe that we are within two weeks of adding another member to our family. The time has really just flown by! The doctors on base are being great and are willing to induce labor once I am at my due date. I go back to the doctor on Monday and we will schedule the exact induction date then, but Paco and I are going to request Friday, April 10th if we can. My parents are going to come over and watch EJ for us so we won't have to worry about bothering friends. God willing, we will be able to bring a healthy little baby home on Easter Sunday!

Here is a shot of my big belly as of this evening. Please vote on our new poll to guess if Baby Sanchez is going to be a boy or a girl. Check back frequently in the next few weeks to see if the little one decides to come early--not likely, seeing as EJ was 10 days late!

Yeah Baby!

Many of you know that this little baby of ours has been breech for quite some time now. I was scheduled to go in this morning to attempt a procedure that would help flip the baby into a head down position. Paco took the day off, we arranged child care for EJ for the whole day, and were set to get this kiddo positioned correctly. The doctor came in and was giving us all the info and then said, "well, why don't we do a real quick scan just to make sure he or she is actually still breech." Amazingly, she showed us a baby that had turned into position on it's own. I guess the little one must have flipped while I was sleeping one night and I didn't even notice it. Good job Baby! So now we just wait to see when he or she will make it's grand entrance into the world.

The little man rarely falls asleep for a nap these days, but he does have "quiet time" in his room each day. That is mainly so Mommy can sit down for a few minutes and have a rest, but he needs to have a little time alone too. Well, today he was oddly quiet so I peek in and amazingly he has fallen asleep. I just found it too funny that he decided to lay down and cover himself up on the ground and not in his nice comfy bed. Silly boy!

Baby Preparations-cloth diapers

A few people might know this, but others will probably be quite surprised to find out that I am going to try using cloth diapers with this baby. Most people probably think I am crazy and I might end up agreeing with them, but I want to at least give it a try. Cloth diapers have come a LONG way since the plastic pants and pins most people remember. There are still prefolds (like a burp cloth), which I do have a few of, but there are also really neat pocket and fitted diapers that go on pretty much just like a disposable. I am excited to give it a try and see if this is for me. I'm sure there will be tons of baby action shots once he or she arrives!

This is a Bumgenious diaper--it has snaps that adjust so it fits from 5-35 pounds. All you do is attach the velcro just like a disposable and then wash once used.

These are a few of the cloth wipes I just got in. This lady makes them with flannel prints on one side and organic bamboo velour on the other--so soft and cute!

This is one of the waterproof covers that go over the prefolds--no more plastic pants!

Sorry, couldn't get this one to flip

Air Force Museum

Over the weekend we decided it would be fun to take EJ up to the National Museum of the Air Force. This is a wonderful museum showcasing the complete history of flight--starting with the Wright Brothers and working up to the newest F-22. If any of you are ever in the Dayton area I would highly recommend a trip. One of the best parts is it's completely free!

Edited to note: If you click on the pictures they become larger and you can get a little better view of some of the planes in the background.

This one is a little hard to see, but he was so interested in all the planes that he just walked around and checked it all out like such the little man.

I apologize for the lighting being a bit bad, but it is hard for them to light a gigantic airplane hanger!

Kiddo update

Hi Everyone,
I had another doctors appointment today and the little one is still definitely heads up. I go back next Monday and if he/she is still heads up then we will schedule the version (where the doctor tries to manually turn the baby) for Friday, March 20th. Hopefully that will work. My doctor seemed very optimistic today so I am hoping for the best. I will be sure to update next week.

Baby Update-6 weeks to go!

I really can't believe we are almost at the end of this pregnancy. The time has really flown by this time. Perhaps it has something to do with chasing after a three year old everyday!

This last week I had a regular doctor appointment and the baby is looking great. Measuring right where it should be and perfect heartbeat. The one slight problem is that it's head is still very much up by my ribs and not down where it should be. We are still hopeful the little one will flip sometime in the next few weeks so I can avoid the dreaded c-section. The doctor has me doing these really fun exercises where I stick my bottom up in the air and head down on the ground to try to get baby to flip. EJ thinks it is hilarious and is always doing his exercises right along with Mommy. I go back to the doctor March 9th and then once a week after that. I will be sure to keep you all informed.

At least this is fun for one of us!

Ready, Set, Tackle

This week the boys have been having fun playing tackle. EJ loves to run and tackle Paco and I think Paco has really had fun playing around and forgetting all the stresses of selling a house and finding a new job.
